No. Jotline starts saving your notes to the cloud immediately, anonymously, with no sign-up. Connect a Google or Apple account only if you want your notes to sync across devices and survive reinstalls.
When you open Jotline, the current time (HH:MM) is dropped in automatically so you can just start typing. If you step away and come back within a few minutes you stay under the same time; once you've been away for about 5 minutes — or it's a new day — Jotline adds a fresh time stamp, so a day's note reads like a timeline of moments.
Securely in the cloud (Google Firebase), private to your account. They're cached on your device too, so the app works offline and syncs when you're back online.
Connect a Google or Apple account on both devices (Account & sync). Your notes will appear wherever you sign in with the same account.
In the app, open Account & sync → Delete account & data to permanently delete your account and all notes. You can also email us to request deletion.
Open the menu and choose Back up to export a copy of all your notes to your device's share sheet.
